Introducing The New York Prostate Institute
About Us

INTRODUCING the New York Prostate

The New York Prostate Institute is a nationally recognized center of excellence for prostate brachytherapy that offers leading edge care and treatment. The NYPI is under the direction of Louis Potters, M.D., F.A.C.R., a world-renowned lecturer, researcher and teacher in the field of prostate cancer treatment with more than 15 years experience and over 2500 implants performed. Formerly from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he performed pioneering research on nomogram statistical analysis and developed the (Potters) implant technique, Dr. Potters has established the NYPI as a second opinion center for patients with a diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Located in Oceanside, on the campus of South Nassau Communities Hospital, the NYPI offers state of the art treatment technology in a patient friendly atmosphere.

In 1992, Dr. Potters became the first physician to offer prostate brachytherapy on Long Island. Since then, his studies in patient outcomes based upon implant quality have established the standard of care for brachytherapy. Along with Dr. Edward E. Mullen, Dr. Potters and the NY Prostate Institute offers the highest quality of radiation options for prostate cancer.

More important than the type of treatment you choose is the selection of the physician that performs it. Physician experience and specialization result in proper patient selection and appropriate treatment recommendations tailored to the individual patient.

All patients diagnosed with prostate cancer deserve a second opinion to review their treatment options. To learn more about brachytherapy and external radiation options for treating prostate cancer from leaders in the field, please call toll-free at 866-524-NYPI or 516-632-3370.
