The New York Prostate Institute is committed to improving patient care through continuing medical education and is pleased to offer online our second annual Second Perspectives Meeting on Prostate Cancer which was held on November 11th, 2005 at the Garden City Hotel, New York.

The New York Prostate Institute is presenting this CME course for 5.75 hours of category credit for free.

Target Audience:
Radiation Oncologists, Urologists, Medical Oncologists, Internists, Oncology Nurses, Social Workers and other allied medical professionals.

Course Description
The goal of this activity is to disseminate and review the management of prostate cancer discussing reviewing issues and controversies that face the urologist, radiation oncologist and the primary care physician.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss recent changes in the epidemiology and prevention of prostate cancer.
- Apply recent updates in the early detection of prostate cancer.
- Discuss the implication of pathology, staging and risk assessment.
- Discuss the advances in brachytherapy, external radiation and surgery.
- Describe new techniques of real-time dosimetry for brachytherapy.
- Describe treatment assessment
- Discuss salvage treatment options
